About ITDA Technical Instructor

ITDA Technical Instructor covers a multitude of training and certifications for technical divers, from Entry Level Technical Instructor (Nitrox Ntech Instructor), Technical Instructor training is totally different from the sports scuba / recreational diving Instructor training, as the instructor candidate in technical programs MUST be certified in the subject area to become an instructor in that area... For Example to become an Ntech Nitrox Instructor, the candidate MUST be certified as an Ntech Advanced Nitrox Diver first (Demonstrating that they are already masters of Nitrox Diving...) The same is true for all levels of our Technical Specialist Instructor Training...  Our programs are very different from most other technical agencies as we have an "Upgrade Paths" to Advanced Professional Levels.

 Technical Instructors may now also take the assessor workshop and then they may add the ITDA Academy Certificate in Diving (Specialist) and Diploma program....   see ITDA Academy link

Who can take a Technical Instructor Course Program

Any advanced level specialist diver, who meets the requirements below, may take the instructor program for that specailist subject area:

Pre-Requisities for attending an ITDA Technical Instructor Course Program...

1. Be an Advanced Technical Level Specialist.

2. Take the Technical Leadership program with technical rescue, or be certified as a Scuba Instructor (Any Agency).

3. Be certified as an IHMP Dive Medic Instructor or Trainer with Oxygen First-aid and AED Instructor levels...

 

What can an ITDA Technical Instructor Train and Certify?

The Technical Instructor program covers our standards for training and certifying technical divers and covers all of the elements of our Scuba Instructor Training Program plus the technical training (Specialist Technical Instructor Area) with additional rescue, deep rescue and higher levei of theory / physics - physiology and advanced decompression. Minimum 10 days program.

Therefore our Technical Instructors can train and certify the Technical specialist levels they are authorised by ITDA HQ or qualified regional offices to certify. Plus they can also train and certify all ITDA Sports Scuba Levels to Leadership and also IHMP First-Aid Levels as authorised to certify, normally: IHMP BLS/CPR and Dive Medic (Inc. Oxygen and AED First-Aid) as a Trainer.

 

What are the possible paths to become a Technical Instructor

The ITDA sytsem is unique in as much as we offer a clear upgrade path to higher levels from the Technical Instructor Program. The Technical Instructor course is a Core Program on which we build higher levels...

 

Who can train and Certify this Professional Level?

Any ITDA Technical Specialist Trainer Or Technical Trainer / Assessor - Technical Trainers from other agencies may train and certify this level if they are certified and can demonstrate the experience levels required... They need only to register with ITDA Group HQ and may or may not crossover to ITDA... To certify Technical Diving Instructors with ITDA a minimum of 1 Technical Trainer or Trainer Assessor and 1 Technical Training Director/Assessor or ITDA HQ Technical Assessor/Examiner...
