What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact and Admin forms
If you've used one of our contact forms, your email address is usually included. We do not store your email address or share it with anyone else without your express permission. For the use of our web forms for registration and certification we do store your data but access is not "Public" and we have secure servers in several Countries with cloud backup. We use both Norton and Kaspersky security on our terminals, PC's and Macbooks, laptops etc. etc. Any data breech will be notified.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. Data is kept according to law where are servers are based. For example in the UK we must keep records for 7 years.

Any and all email data is encrypted and secure but if a breech occured we would mail all contacts with details of the breech. Please NOTE: We do not store or hold financial data or credit/debit card information as we process card payments with Paypal, so we never receive your card details...

We may from time to time make inquires about our instructors / professionals who are crossing over to us from another agency, we will contact the agency for a status report and to check that their are no outstanding standards or safety issues and to verify certification / qualifications before processing professional appointments.
Industry regulatory disclosure requirements
We have an obligation to any inquiry from a diving professional, training center or dive shop to offer confirmation details of your date of certification and level certified to, along with name and email address for ID verification.
