AED First-Aid / Emergency Care
We have developed two levels of unique ITDA/IHMP Medical AED/DEA First Aid Training and certification programs. The 1st. is a generic AED First Aid Program examining the practice and principles of delivering emergency care / first aid with any AED/DEA Unit. (DEA is Spanish for AED) and the 2nd is unit specific training based on the majority of units or a specific unit that you may have or are buying...
About this unqiue AED Life Support Training
We take a generic approach to AED/DEA First Aid training as all the AED Units may be different the principle of using them in first aid are much the same.
IHMP First Aid Training is firstly about feeling comfortable using an AED Unit and correctly applying the PADs to an injured Person (As this is the area most people find difficult).
We also study the major causes for "SCA" Sudden Cardiac Arrest and the primary care procedures.
There are also many misconceptions
about using AED devices among non medical persons and the major
one is "Can I injure them
further or even stop a beating heart?"
The simple answer should be NO! The
AED Unit is able to detect a heart rhythm even when it appears
that there is none and the Unit will only function if there is
not a signal strong enough to maintain life. Other wise
the unit will instruct the user to "Give CPR for 2-3 Mins" and
then check again... Or No Action Required call EMS!
Automatic
External Defibrillator, which is a defibrillation device, safe,
portable and easy to use, it can be applied in family and public
places to give rapid first aid for sudden death symptoms. (SCA
Sudden Cardiac Arrest!)
With a complex unit of electronics
like an AED it is very easy for many people to feel intimidated
and out of their depth... But our training methods use low
stress and comfortable practical sessions in order to develop
both confidence and skills ability. ITDA IHMP Training programs have
evoloved and are continously evolving over 1,000's of hours of
practice and demonstrations. So that the few hours our students
spend learning these valuable skills are firmly grounded in the
practical application of such skills. The Course program is just one day
and requires a pre-requisite of CPR Training (This maybe
included in the course program). No other requirements exist...
CPR Will also be reviewed and practised on the Course Program.
To become an ITDA IHMP Medical Instructor or Trainer requires
proven skills and experience plus a complete understanding of
the subject materials involved, in teaching and training our
programs. Plus meeting national and International standards
requirements as Industry professionals. Many have been Medically Trained as EMT's (Emergency Medical
Technicians) or DMT's (Dive Medic Technicians) And many are
Diving Instructors who are trained professional in teachning,
training and instructing Scuba and Technical Diving skills.
